What realisation led to the borrowings from different languages?
Ans.The Middle English borrowed lots of words from French and Latin.
Some of the borrowed words are history, index, picture, genius, summary
substitute, private etc.
The Middle English happened to witness The Great Vowel Shift changing
the punctuation of the long English Vowels. The Grammatical System also
underwent some remarkable changes. The inflected Language changed to an
analystic one. The literature of the first phase of this period was religious.
