Ans. The speaker happens to be a "Parsi" by religion. One morning, he

went with his father on morning walk, in his childhood. They were passing

through a burning ghat located on the bank of a river. He saw there, a deadbody

being cremated. He noticed the brutality and the immoral behaviour of the fire.

This custom is against his religious tradition. As such it has offended the religious

sentiment of the speaker, when he was a child.
